Kane & Lynch: Dead Men

During a recent meeting with Eidos we had an opportunity to spend some quality time with a pre-alpha (early work-in-progress) Xbox 360 build of Kane & Lynch. The version of the game was the same one that we saw a couple of months ago, but on this occasion we were allowed to play for ourselves and took in a different level. The "Tokyo Streets" level that we played through directly follows the "Tokyo Highrise" level that we saw last time, and sees Kane, Lynch, and their crew leaving the skyscraper and making their way to a getaway van that's parked behind a bus terminal a few cop-filled blocks away.

Drive3R

The Driver series has always focused on cars. Car chases, car crashes, car theft... It's all in there. However, the upcoming third installment in the gritty driving series will focus as much on the people who propel the game's plot forward as it will on the actual vehicles that move these people. The game will feature a mixture of the driving sequences that made the series famous with on-foot sections that will let you explore interior settings in the cities of Miami, Nice, and Istanbul. You'll also be doing a fair amount of shooting at the bad guys, of course.

Shrek 2: Team Action

Since the ushering in of the current generation of consoles, multiplatform ports have become extremely commonplace. Though the level of visual quality may fluctuate, you can pretty much expect the same thing from the PC, Xbox, PlayStation 2, and GameCube versions of most multiplatform releases. This makes it a bit surprising that Activision, when making its games based on Shrek 2, chose to create a unique title for the PC. Granted, the Luxoflux-produced console version of Shrek 2 was a little short and a little simple, but the PC version undercuts that title with poor visuals, rougher, shallower gameplay, and an outrageously short running time.

Shrek The Third (2007)

In Shrek the Third, players adventure as Shrek?® and his friends to save Far Far Away in a hilariously twisted fairy tale from the movie and beyond. Fans play as their favorite heroes from the film: Shrek, Donkey, Puss-in-Boots, Fiona, Fiona's rebellious cousin Arthur and her fellow fairy tale heroine Sleeping Beauty. The game takes players on an epic journey through the worlds of Far Far Away after Prince Charming storms the city with an army of villains in order to seize the throne. Players are challenged to rescue pals, face off against Charming's henchmen, gather collectibles, test their gaming skills in numerous boss fights and engage in various mini-games that can be played in single-player or multiplayer modes.

Chrome SpecForce

Chrome SpecForce is the follow-up to 2003's Chrome, and in SpecForce you once again play as the awesomely named Bolt Logan, who is a member of the elite SpecForce soldiers. The story is fairly transparent, and since there are no cutscenes to move it along, most of the plot information you receive comes from some brief text on the loading screen before each mission. Apparently there's some sort of conflict going down on the planet of Estrella, and the SpecForce has been commissioned to take care of it. Eventually you learn that a huge, insidious corporation is training supersoldiers and threatening the very existence of the planet. Bolt Logan and the SpecForce soldiers have to save the day by trudging through jungles and military bases to hack computers, blow up key structures, save prisoners, and so on.

Doom 3 Full and Expansion
